Are you open on public holidays?

No, we are not open on public holidays. In an emergency please call 9428 2220

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, please telephone 9428 2220 to book an appointment – this helps to minimise waiting times. We will always see emergency cases as soon as possible, but please try to call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival.

Can I email the clinic to make a booking?

No, we are not able to schedule appointments via email, so please call 9428 2220 to make a booking.

How can I make payment?

Richmond Vet Clinic accepts Visa and Mastercard, EFTPOS and cash. Payment in full is due after each visit – we do not run accounts.

Do you make house calls?

Yes, we do local house calls by prior arrangement for an additional fee. Please call to make a booking.

Do you do microchipping?

Yes, we can microchip your pet during a routine consultation.

Do you do cat grooming?

Yes, please call 9428 2220 for details.

Can I purchase heartworm and flea treatments over the counter?

Yes, we carry a wide range of products.

What do I need to do to bring my pet in to the clinic?

Because the car park and waiting room are open to the public there are certain requirements. Dogs must be on a short lead at all times, and cats must be in a secure carry basket with a solid plastic base. These are also the requirements to transport your pet in the car. If your pet is severely injured or unable to walk, you can make a stretcher by rolling her/him onto a large towel large towel or blanket, and lifting it by the corners.

Do you look at birds and fish and other unusual pets?

We are usually able to provide straightforward care for these special pets.

Cats and regular grooming
Establish a regular grooming program. Once a week is usually sufficient, though longhaired cats will need several sessions a week, even daily, to prevent malting.
