Meet Our Staff

Dr. Phillip Kidd graduated from Melbourne University and began working in Richmond in 1975. Phillip is an expert in muscular soreness and lameness after working with racing greyhounds. He is also a skilled small animal dentist. You can occasionally spot him at the local gym and pool and he is an avid summertime sailor.

As a long time Richmond vet and resident he is friends with most of the local dogs, cats and people. Phillip is owned by two dogs, Chip and Toughie and a cat, Greyham, recently adopted from the clinic. Greyham is trying to teach Dr Phil a few new tricks. We need to learn how to place the food in the bowl now, and how to open the door when I want to go out.

Dr. Caitlin Blake-Lane started her veterinary career in high  school when she began working as a vet nurse in Glen Iris. She went on to graduate from Melbourne University and then to work in Sydney, often doing locum work for horse trainers Bart Cummings and Gai Waterhouse.

Back in Melbourne and living locally in Richmond, Caitlin is looking to share her life with a pet of her own.

Caitlin also has Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service accreditation, so if you'd like your nearest and dearest to travel with you overseas, she can set you up with the necessary vaccinations and certificates. She is also licensed to insert the i.d. microchips into your pet.

HoraceHorace was our resident cat and clinic manager. He oversaw the business from his favourite spot on the front counter. He was adopted by his staff and spent the last two and a half years being pampered. His duties included minding the car park, walking on the keyboards, food bowl checks, playing with the toy mouse, purring for pats and meowing at the door. Unfortunately he was run over on Church street. Like the successor to the Dalai lama, there is a new Horace out there. We await his/her arrival.
